There has been much silly email about Nostradamus recently. Read this and maybe this to clearify.

I would like to give the original words of Nostradamus a closer look.
L'an mil neuf cens nonante neuf sept mois,

I don't see how this can have any relation to September 11th. Even if 1999 means 2001 like some people claim, seven months are July and I don't see anything in the text reminding me of NYC.

An other very popular one goes like this:
Cinq & quarante degrez ciel bruslera
Feu approcher de la grand cité neuue
Instant grand flamme esparse sautera
Quand on voudra des Normans faire preuue.

This one I think speaks of Hiroshima, 1945 (the degrees probably are a hidden hint I don't recognize).
The sky will burn at 5 and 40 degrees,
fire approaches the great new city,
an instantaneous big sparse blaze leaps up,
when they will want to make proof of the Normans.
That is, when the americans want to demonstrate the new power of their nuclear weaponry. Nostradamus is said to intend the Americans when he says the Normans, it's up to you to agree. Anyway, this quartaine has nothing to do with NYC, either.
